On the 26th of January a large SCB team of 32 descended upon ASV and it was a great competition for all this year. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped out in setting up the competition. A special thanks goes to the officials and volunteers who helped out on the day.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who swam on the day helping SCB to be the club winning the most points on the day. The winning visiting club were Glasgow Western Masters, second were Banff and Buchan Masters and third were Heart of Midlothian so a huge congratulations to all three teams.
Well done to our age group winners at SCB; Kelly McIntosh, Iona Reid, Audrey Cooper, Andy Wheeler, Keith Dunnett, Brian Bain and Farquhar Macrae.
During the day SCB broke a number of records. There were two Scottish records for Bill Reid, British records for Martin Snape and Audrey Cooper and the day was rounded off with a 400 m freestyle European record for Audrey Cooper.
I’d also like to give a huge congratulations to the winners of the 25m trophies Mark Campbell (University of Aberdeen Performance) and Ruth Miller (Heart of Midlothian).
At the end of a fun day of fast swimming a lot of the swimmers headed to the Royal British Legion for the awards presentation. All the age group winners present were presented with their age group awards and then we all enjoyed some delicious soup and stovies and some drinks. Overall it was a great day with a fun evening event to top the day off.
