SILVER CITY BLUES QUIZ NIGHT JAN 2019

A Report by Alison Findlater

On the 12th January 2019 Silver City Blues held their annual quiz night. This year we had a new venue – The Royal British Legion in Bridge of Don. This was an excellent venue with plenty of space, our own barman and exceptionally cheap drinks! The quizmaster for the night was Kamran Majidli. He made a huge effort to organise a fantastic quiz and this resulted in a very entertaining evening for everyone.

Our Quizmaster for the night Kamran ready to pose the first question

There were 4 teams in total, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares; The Legionnaires; The Loneliness of the Long Distance Swimmer and My Password is Qwerty.

The Legionnaire’s
Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares
My Password is Qwerty
The Lonliness of the Long Distance Swimmer

There was a good mix of complicated questions and some fairly straightforward ones and there was a fun guess the baby picture round as well. You can imagine the laughs when it transpired that one of the photos was Jenny and Die Hard was left scratching his head as he did not have a clue.

Another highlight was when the question was asked about a certain Scottish champion. “Oh”, says Day, “that could be me, but it’s not, it must be Audrey”. Well, that lost us a point because it was, in fact Day and she didn’t even realise it!!! We can let her off though as it was her birthday. This was celebrated with a birthday cake and a fantastic rendition of Happy Birthday

The winning team were “My Password is Qwerty” – this team was made up of Carly, Gill, Greg, Adam and – of course – Brian!

And the winners of the coveted Wooden Spoon were The Loneliness of The Long Distance Swimmer led by John

Thanks to all who came and made this a fantastic, fun evening. To those who didn’t or couldn’t make it, sorry you missed out and I would sincerely recommend you try to come to next year’s quiz.
